Boulders 132kV sub-transmission line EIA

Vredenburg Windfarm proposes the development of a 132kV above-ground electricity sub-transmission line. The proposed sub-transmission line will be used to transmit electrical energy generated by the Boulders Wind Farm (up to 140 megawatt (MW)) to the existing Eskom Fransvlei-Aurora 132kV line for distribution via the national electrical grid network.

You are here-by informed that the Final Basic Assessment Report has been submitted to the decision-making authorities, the Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (DEFF).

Note: The comments, issues and concerns that were received during the commenting period from 29th of October 2019 to the 27th of November 2019 have been incorporated into the Issues and Response Trail (Appendix D6).

Not relevant at this stage:“The Basic Assessment process has been completed and the authorities have made their decision on the application for environmental authorisation (see the Environmental Authorisation (EA) document of 08 June 2020 available on this webpage).

Interested and Affected Parties (IAPs) have an opportunity to lodge an appeal if they wish to do so.  Information on the appeal procedures is provided in the Environmental Authorisation and in the NEMA Appeal Regulations provided on this webpage.Any appeal must be lodged within 20 days of IAPs being notified of the EA decision which occurred on the 17th June 2020.”
