Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is proposing the development of 2 x 1 km 400 kV line- loop-in and loop-out (LILO), from the Apollo-Croydon 275 kV line into Mesong Main Transmission Station (MTS). The proposed powerlines are located within a Strategic Transmission Corridor (STC), near Kempton Park West on the border of Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipalities. CES has been appointed by Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd as an independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to undertake a Basic Assessment, including specialist studies, and apply for the necessary Environmental Authorisation (EA) for the proposed project.
Please be advised that the Draft Basic Assessment and Specialist Reports are available here for public review. Hardcopies of the executive summaries will be sent via registered post, upon request, to I&APs should they be unable to access the electronic version.
