ESKOM MTS
Coleskop Wind Power (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of EDF Renewables (Pty) Ltd, (the Applicant) is proposing the construction of an Eskom MTS, near Noupoort in the Pixley Ka Seme District Municipality of the Northern Cape Province.
The proposed Eskom Main Transmission System (MTS) includes the following infrastructure::
- Eskom MTS 400kV Umsobomvu Substation of up to 600m x 600m;
- IPP 132/33kV Substation
- Multiple 33kV overhead lines (+/- 1.5km);
- 400kv overhead line of up to 1km with a 100m corridor for the 400kV line loop-in-loop-out onto the 400kV Hydra Poseidon 2 Line;
- 400kV (up to 1km) – connecting the Eskom MTS Substation to the 400kV Eskom Transmission (Hydra/Poseidon) Powerline.
CES has been appointed by Coleskop Wind Power to undertake ground truthing studies as part of the finalisation of the EMPr.
