Environmental auditing is a broad term that embraces a number of
disciplines such as:
• verification of environmental compliance,
• financial reporting,
• non-financial environmental information as part of a voluntary
sustainability or social reporting initiative (e.g. Global
Reporting Initiative),
• company information as part of the due diligence process
during mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other financial and
economic transactions (e.g. loan application, etc).
Our staff have extensive environmental auditing experience in
conducting compliance audits for numerous companies against the
ISO14001 Environmental Management System standards. Further, we
have managed financial audits for numerous private and listed
companies both in South Africa and in the USA. CES has also
evaluated and verified the environmental assets and liabilities
for financial reporting purposes in terms of Generally Accepted
Accounting Practice (GAAP) for large multinational companies.
CES staff are registered financial and environmental auditors
with various national and international verification bodies,
including:
- American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (USA)
- Registrar Accreditation Board/QSA (USA/Australia)
- British Standards Institute (UK)
A CES staff member has also been a member of the South African
Bureau of Standards Technical Committee TC 207: Environmental
Management Systems since 2002. (WHO IS THIS?)
With our expertise, CES can assist you with finding the
solutions to your environmental auditing requirements.
