Sturdee Energy proposes to construct a 10MW Solar PV facility and associated infrastructure on the PPC Dwaalboom property, near Dwaalboom in the Limpopo Province. The intention of the project is to generate power to supplement the electricity consumption by the PPC cement manufacturing plant with Solar PV energy required to operate the plant and associated equipment including facilities on the site.
CES has been appointed by Sturdee Energy as an independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to undertake a Basic Assessment (BA), including specialist study.

Sturdee Energy Proprietary Limited were granted Environmental Authorisation (EA) from the Limpopo Provincial Department of Economic Development, Environmental & Tourism for the implementation of a solar PV facility in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA, No. 107 of 1998). The EA was granted on the 4th November 2021 and received on the 26th November 2021 and will remain valid for a 10-year period from the date of issue.
For reasons of the decision by the competent authority refer to Section 4.2 of the EA, page 6.
Interested and Affected Parties (I&APs) are afforded a 20-day period to lodge an appeal against this decision from the date of notification. The 20-day appeals period will therefore run from 6th December 2021 to the 15th January 2022.
Should you wish to lodge an appeal this against decision, please submit the appeal to the appeals administrator within the time period(s) stipulated above. A copy of the notice of intention to appeal must also be served to the applicant, all registered interested and affected parties as well as any organ of state with an interest in the matter.
