Coastal and Environmental Services (Pty) Ltd (trading as “CES”) has been appointed by Woodlands Dairy (Pty) Ltd to compile an Environmental Management Programme in accordance with Appendix 4 of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA, Act No. 107 of 1998, as amended) Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations (2014 and subsequent 2017 amendments) as well as environmental recommendations (this report) for the proposed development of a 22 kV overhead line for the Woodlands Dairy. The proposed 22kV overhead line will be approximately 2.4 km in length and will be routed from the Eskom Melkhout Substation to the Woodlands Diary, located near Humandsdorp within the Eastern Cape Province. The project area falls within the Kouga Local Municipality seated under the Sarah Baartman District Municipality.
The proposed development does not trigger Listed Activities specified in GN R. 327, GN R. 325 and/or GN R.324 and therefore does not require an application for Environmental Authorisation in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) (Act No. 107 of 1998 and subsequent amendments) Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations (2014 and subsequent amendments).
