PROPOSED UITSIG BOERDERY TRUST CITRUS DEVELOPMENT NEAR KIRKWOOD, EASTERN CAPE PROVINCE: DRAFT BASIC ASSESSMENT REPORT

Coastal and Environmental Services (Pty) Ltd, trading as "CES", has been appointed by the Uitsig Boerdery Trust (the "Applicant") to undertake a Basic Assessment (BA) Process for Environmental Authorisation (EA) for the proposed development of 19.9 hectares (ha) of citrus on a section of Portion 2 of Farm 683, near Kirkwood in the Eastern Cape Province. Please note that an Application for EA has been submitted to the Eastern Cape Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEDEAT).
The proposed citrus development requires the clearing of 19.9 ha of vegetation (centre point coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes: 33°28.618´ S; 25°32.007´ E) on Portion 2 of Farm 683, approximately fourteen kilometres (14 km) south-east of Kirkwood. Water, for the proposed citrus development, will be obtained via existing infrastructure and existing gravel roads will be used to access the property.
Please note that the Draft Basic Assessment Report (BAR) is available for public review from the 18th of September (Friday) until the 5th of November 2020 (Thursday).
