Invitation to the inaugural heavy minerals conference in Sri Lanka

Invitation to present a paper entitled “Progressive Rehabilitation: Returning Land to Nature or Productive Use"

“Dr Ted Avis, CES’s Business Development Executive has been invited to the inaugural heavy minerals conference in Sri Lanka to present a paper entitled “Progressive Rehabilitation: Returning Land to Nature or Productive Use”. This is recognition of the leading role that Ted has played in the assessment and evaluation of heavy mineral mining projects across Africa and Madagascar. He has prepared over 15 bankable ESIA’s in this sector, and as a research scientist and academic he was involved in the rehabilitation of dune systems and has published widely in this field.

Sri Lanka has considerable potential to develop several high grade mineral mining projects in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner, and the conference will explore these issues with a view to developing a responsible heavy mineral mining industry.”
