Proposed Logistics Sequencing Facility in the East London Industrial Development Zone, Eastern Cape

Daimler Truck Southern Africa Limited (DTSA) is proposing to develop a logistics sequencing facility within the East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ), Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality (BCMM). The project scope entails the construction of an industrial building (16 000m² approximately) together with concrete hardstands, ancillary buildings, parking area and the associated engineering services to support the development.

The proposed logistics sequencing facility will consist of the following key elements:

• The onsite storage of diesel in above ground tanks with a total monthly volume of 5000 Liters (5m3)
• Footprint size of the facility described as:
• Sequencing (Phase 1) Area: = 16 245 m²
• Sequencing Canopies Area: = 1 215 m²
• Office Area: = 200 m²
• Refuse Area: = 135 m²
• Entrance Canopy Area: = 375 m²
• Hardstand Area: = 6 300 m²
• Roadways And Parking: = 17 000 m²
• Total footprint for the logistics sequencing facility= 4.147 hectares
