Zirco currently holds a mining right in respect of the Roode Heuvel and Leeuvlei areas (Zirco Kamiesberg Project) (NC 10062 MR), as well as two prospecting rights, known as Sabies (NC 10268 (12387) PR) and Langkuil (NC 11963 PR). The projects are located approximately 500 km north of Cape Town and approximately 35 km to the southwest of the town of Garies in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa.
The Zirco Kamiesberg Project has an approved environmental authorisation (EA) issued in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (Act 107 of 1998) with reference number NC/EIA/13/NAM/KAM/RLS1/2013 as well as an amended EA. Note that this authorization includes the Sabies Prospecting area. An environmental authorisation for the Sabies area was received in conjunction with the environmental authorisation for the Zirco Kamiesberg Project during February 2016.
Zirco has now also obtained an approved Environmental Authorisation with reference number NC30/5/1/2//2 (10249) MR in respect of the Langkuil area.
The Langkuil Mining area will be incorporated in terms of Section 102 of the MPRDA into the existing mining right for the Kamiesberg Project, as it is essentially an extension of the existing approved Kamiesberg mine.
It is important to note that the Langkuil area, for which an EA has been granted is an extension of the approved Zirco Kamiesberg Project and as such the only infrastructure associated with this project is transient infrastructure such as access roads and pipelines for the transport of water and sands. The position of this infrastructure changes based on the area being mined at the time by the project.

An appeal may be lodged with the Director: Appeals and Legal Review, within twenty (20) days of the date of notification of this decision and copied to the CES Environmental Consultant representatives at CES as per below, as well as the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources as indicated below:
