As part of the ‘Spring’ Cleaning initiative we contributed items such as clothes, toys and appliances to the Child Welfare Grahamstown shop. The Grahamstown CES branch had a social event celebrating Spring and the Rugby World Cup 2019; while supporting the less fortunate.
CES contributed to the 2019 Regional Eskom Expo for Young Scientists; hosted by Scifest Africa in Grahamstown from 2-3 August 2019. The regional final was a great success with 185 projects from 250 learner participants that entered this year. The CES award went to one of the young scientists Lindelihle Manyati, a Grade 11 learner from Ntsika Senior Secondary School, in the category Animal Sciences; for the project ‘Fish assemblages and the habitats they choose to live in within the Kariega estuary’.
We also congratulate Lindelihle as one of the 16 learners who have been selected to represent the Grahamstown region at the International Science Fair (ISF) in Boksburg from 24-27 September.

All proceeds from the Pink Golf Day would be channelled towards community-based activities, NGOs and services pertinent to women from disadvantaged sectors of the Makhanda community. CES had been invited to contribute. View sponsorship PDF, CES contributed in support of the Pink Golf Day on Friday 9 August.
Appreciation letter to acknowledge Coastal & Environmental Services' contribution to the Phoenix Dog Project initiative.
The Centre for Social Development would like to thank you for your generous donation of office furniture. As a self-funded NPO, we are not able to afford infrastructural supplies. Having the opportunity to receive furnishings, notice boards and files, allows us to improve the appearance of our working space and improves the working lives of our staff. The second-hand files are invaluable for our ECD practitioners who do not have the means to afford office stationary but have to produce a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) as part of their assessment on their courses.
View Centre for Social Development PDFWe would like to thank you most sincerely for the wonderful gift of two desks. We have been in need of these desks for so long, but just have not had the funding to purchase them. They will be used daily and thank you for your generosity in contacting NGO’s in Grahamstown to inquire about their need for office furniture.
